Should I leave it as a riddle for you to find the connection? Of course, while you look at this tiny photo you can think a while, before scrolling down further. But I am too aware of the details that are not there in plain sight, that can prevent you from finding an answer.

So, I will tell you of a couple of the several kinds of connections that I see here.

First – there are two books in the photo. Both were written in ages long gone, when the respect one felt towards another (for instance) prevented one from forcing another to confide in one.
Or (in the other instance) one didn't take a liberty without the need to do so arising of honor and justice.
This connects the two books.

Second – those times didn't even afford the simplest land line. Any not spoken connection between people was handwritten. Another connection between the two books, reiterated by the handwritten letter on top of them.

האם להציג זאת כחידה ולהניח לכם למצוא את הקשר? כמובן, אפשר להתעכב על הצילום הקטנטן ולשקול לרגע. אך אני מודעת מדי לפרטים שלא נראים, שחסרונם יכול למנוע מציאת תשובה.

אז אשתף בשניים מהרעיונות שלי לקשרים מסוגים שונים שאני רואה פה.

האחד – הצילום מכיל שני ספרים. שניהם נכתבו בזמנים שעברו מזמן. זמנים בהם לכבד מישהו (למשל) התבטא גם בהימנעות מלהכריח אותו לבטוח בנו עם פרטיותו.
או (בדוגמא השנייה) אדם לא הרשה לעצמו חירויות שלא נבעו מיושרה וצדק.

השני – אותם זמנים לא סיפקו אף לא את הטלפון הביתי הכי פשוט. כל קשר בין בני אדם, שלא בדיבור, היה צריך להיכתב בכתב יד. קשר נוסף בין שני הספרים, המודגש (לדעתי) על ידי המכתב מעליהם.
