While walking along the line of cars, I was thinking of how to deal with with this year's show. Should I start with the oldest car shown?
בעודי מתקדמת לאורך שורת המכוניות, חשבתי איך להתמודד עם התערוכה של השנה הזאת. האם להתחיל עם מה שנראה לי המכונית הכי זקנה בתצוגה?
Or would I point out my third love-of-my-life from my childhood? (for the first and second, click here, from yester-year).
או שמא לציין את אהבת חיי השלישית מהילדות? (לראשונה ולשנייה, קליק פה, מהשנה שעברה).
Until I suddenly stumbled on this car.
עד שלפתע-פתאום נתקלתי במכונית הזאת.
Pink isn't really my color. Yet I did love the car.
וורוד זה לא בדיוק הצבע שלי. אבל אהבתי את המכונית.
However, it's name told me nothing. I never heard/read/saw this name anywhere. And I was very sorry there was no detail-note on it.
אם כי השם שלה לא אמר לי כלום. מעולם לא שמעתי/קראתי/ראיתי את השם הזה בשום מקום. ומאד הצטערתי על שלא היה עליה פתק-פרטים.
So I went on line. And found Borgward.
על כן אל הרשת פניתי. ומצאתי את בּוֹרגוַרד (באנגלית).
This could be the 50's Isabella. Or not. Like I mentioned – there was no detail-note. But since this was a German company. I thought to mention one of the very few details I know about this language. W in German is pronounced as V (while V is pronounced as F. And I have no idea how they pronounce the actual F!).
ויכול להיות שזו האיזבלה של שנות החמישים. או שלא (הפעם בעברית). כפי שכבר הזכרתי – לא היה פתק-פרטים. אך היות וזו חברה גרמנית, חשבתי לציין את אחד הפרטים הבודדים שאני יודעת על השפה הזו. W בגרמנית מבוטאת כ-V (בעוד ש-V מבוטאת כ-F. ואין לי מושג איך הם מבטאים את ה-F עצמה!).
And this is it for this year. The weather was too hot, I was too bothered, and even though my patience reservoirs are normally deep, this time they ran out fast. Although I was happy to meet a new car (to me).

וזהו זה השנה. היה חם מדי, הייתי טרודה מדי ואף כי בדרך-כלל מאגרי הסבלנות שלי עמוקים, הפעם נגמרו מהר. גם אם שמחתי להכיר מכונית חדשה (לי).

in my case it was a blue 1966 Corvette, as a teen I was sure that car could fix any problem I ever had

Oh, I like blue Corvettes 🙂 However, when I went to this show a year ago I was more than surprised to find a Ford Fiesta (of the first generation) there. At high school, when my best friend got her license, she used to pick me up in her mom's Fiesta and she drove around for hours. For practice. I'm afraid I never saw anything special in this car

after my dad died, we leased my mom a cloud blue vw bug. It was the only one in the small town like it ( very limited order ) – when she drove it, strangers would smile and wave, and little kids on the playground would stop and all wave when she went by.
That was my real favorite car !

What a good thing to happen at such a time. I wasn't as lucky. When my own dad died I was in the army and I almost blocked that whole time out of my mind. But at least it is blocked safely away

in the rock and roll hall of fame museum, ( I used to live in Cleveland ) they have a porche that Janis Joplin used to own. Cost new: 3,000 or so… Now my bicycles cost that much…

That I would have liked to see for myself. And yes, times always change. Not always for the better. A lot used to be simpler in the past
