I have no idea when my home town started getting covered with different statues, as in between the late 80's, when I moved to greener pastures, and 2017 – time when I started touring it as a tourist, a few decades passed…
Nevertheless, I did tour it as a tourist. And in April 2017 I found this statue:
אין לי מושג מתי עיר ילדותי החלה להתכסות בפסלים שונים, היות ובין שלהי שנות ה-80', כאשר עברתי ממנה אל מחוזות זרים, לבין 2017 – זמן בו התחלתי לטייל בה כתיירת, חלפו-עברו אי-אילו עשורים…
אם כי אכן התחלתי לטייל בה כתיירת. ובאפריל 2017 מצאתי בה את זה הפסל:
I continued touring during 2018. And by the end of that year (more then a year and a half from the first photo), I came by the same place, that totally changed:
המשכתי לטייל בה גם לאורך 2018. ובסוף אותה שנה (יותר משנה וחצי מהתמונה הראשונה), הגעתי אל אותו מקום, אשר לגמרי השתנה:
When I think of 'Open', I remember this area.
כאשר אני חושבת על 'פתיחה', אני נזכרת באזור הזה.

I was just talking about this with my husband, how my neighborhood evolve. This is truly an amazing change though!

When I got there the second time, I remember my amazement. And I also remember taking the photo with the thought to compare it with the older version. I just couldn't believe it to be the same place

I'm afraid I have no clue whatsoever. These so astonished me the two times that I saw them, that I didn't even think to walk over and touch them, see what they were made of and have a closer look (and now I'm sorry I haven't). The middle of both shapes reminds me of a tree's bark, yet somewhat enclosed by something else. Have you got any ideas? Because I really don't know what to think

well, all art is interpretive, but it looks to me to be wings on the ends, and natural stone/wood in the center – perhaps a statement to the heavenly properties of the natural ?
I find when I see compelling sculpture, it makes one yearn to touch it, explore it with other senses.

I can see what you mean 🙂 and yes, now I am truly surprised that I didn't cross the street to touch it. As soon as I'm allowed to meet my mom again (she's over 80) I plan to catch a bus there and if there'll be time, I'll visit this statue again, and another, that I didn't get the 'right' photo of yet. Maybe I'll publish a sequel

עכשיו הבנתי אותך טוב יותר 🙂
ראה – זה שטח עירוני, חוף מורשה בין עוד חופים מורשים. המצב שהיה בעבר לא נראה לי בטיחותי במיוחד. אם כי, ומצד שני – אני די משוכנעת שצפונה משם, מעבר לנמל, החוף נותר די במצבו הטבעי.
אני לא יודעת איך זה לאורך כל חוף ישראל עם הים התיכון. ובין הערים – אני לגמרי מסכימה איתך – יש להשאיר את המצב הטבעי. בעיר, ככל שיותר בטיחותי לילדים, נדמה לי עדיף.
