בחזרה אל הפארק | Going back to the park
And while it is true that this time of the year The park can be boring, still…
גם אם נכון כי בעונה זו של השנה ה-פארק יכול לשעמם, בכל-זאת…
though I am fed up with Egyptian Geese myself (I find it a very violent bird and too common in the city itself) I was still happy to see one of them modeling a perfect profile.
גם אם מאסתי ביאוריות בעצמי (לדעתי, עוף אלים מאד ונפוץ מדי בעיר עצמה) עדיין שמחתי לראות אחד מהם מדגמן פרופיל מושלם.
אם כי עוד לפניו… ובכן … Although even before it… well
I'll be the first to admit – the last is not the best of photos. BUT (!), a right-click on it and choosing to open it in a different window enables to click on it again, which will enlarge it. And will enable to see better that in the lower quarter, to the right of the tree, there's a woodpecker (!). A woodpecker that made me very happy, since I don't get to meet many of them.

אודה ואתוודה מלכתחילה – לא צילום מוצלח במיוחד. אבל-ברם-אולם, קליק ימני על התמונה, ובחירה באפשרות לפתוח אותה בחלונית אחרת, מאפשר להקליק שוב על התמונה עצמה. הקליק השני יגדיל אותה. ויאפשר לראות טוב יותר כי ברבע התחתון, לימין גזע העץ, יש נקר (!). נקר ששימח אותי מאד, היות ואני לא פוגשת רבים כאלו.

Mallards seem as common (in this park) almost as much as Egyptian Geese. Although I did wonder at the sight of mainly females… until I met this male, that still seemed pretty lonely at the scene…
ברכיות נפוצות כמעט כמו יאוריות (בפארק הזה). אם כי התפלאתי לראות בעיקר נקבות… עד שפגשתי את הזכר הזה, שמשום מה המשיך להיראות לי די בודד במערכה…
Well, as I've been into flowers recently, I couldn't (this time) not include the following flower
היות ועסקתי בפרחים לאחרונה, לא יכולתי (הפעם) שלא לכלול את הפרח הבא
even if just because I normally meet the purplish variety of it (a light blue-lavender color).
ולו רק בגלל שאני פוגשת בעיקר את הגרסא הסגלגלה (או תכלת-לוונדר בהיר) שלו.
ולבסוף, איך אוכל שלא לכלול את … And finally, how can I not include
… the Jackdaw. I'm always happy to meet these.
… הקאקים. תמיד משמח אותי לפגוש אותם.
And that's it. Slim pickings (it is summer. Some of them have already flown away to cooler pastures), and yet I hope you liked joining me in this visit as much as I did
וזהו-זה. מבחר דל למדי (קיץ. עופות אחרים כבר עפו מכאן למחוזות קרירים יותר) ובכל זאת אקווה כי שמחתם לבקר איתי שם כפי ששמחתי בעצמי

מה זה הפרח הלבן?

לצערי הרב מאד, אין לי שמץ של מושג מה זה הפרח. אני רק יודעת שבסביבה המידית שלי זה פרח נפוץ למדי (בגרסא הסגלגלה שלו), בשנתיים האחרונות. אני לא זוכרת מתי ראיתי פרח כזה בלבן, אם בכלל.

תמונת היאורית יפה. המפגש עם הנקר באמת משמח. גם אני מזמן לא פגשתי כזה.
נראה שהקאקים התרבו בשנים האחרונות- מבחינתי זה חיובי.

הנקר… ובכן, זה בערך המפגש הרביעי או החמישי בחיי… כך שכן מאד, אני תמיד שמחה בגללו 🙂

At our lake lot, my brother had a relentless woodpecker who was always pecking at his trailer windows. It proceeded to do that all summer long. It got to be a bit annoying. But, birds are interesting creatures, aren't they?!

At windows? That's really weird. And yes, definitely, birds are very interesting creatures. Unfortunately, this was only my either fourth or fifth encounter with a woodpecker. Not having any negative encounter with any of them, I'm always very happy when I spot one

You know, I was still thinking about that… and I wonder – what would have happened had he opened the window? Would it have come in or would it have flown away? But I'm guessing had it come in, it would have been difficult to get it out, better that no one tried that
