During the last month I remembered that in my youth I used to experiment with different photographing options. Which is probably why on last Wednesday, when I found a few leisure moments, I fooled around (or went Crazy) a bit with the camera.
As of now, I still haven't found the right title. However, these are the results:
בחודש שעבר נזכרתי כי בצעירותי נהגתי להתנסות בצילומים שונים ומשונים. לכן (ככל הנראה), כאשר ביום רביעי האחרון (יום העצמאות במחוזותינו) מצאתי אי-אילו רגעי פנאי, השתעשעתי ( או השתגעתי) מעט עם המצלמה.
נכון לרגעי כתיבת מילים אלו, עדיין לא מצאתי את הכותרת המתאימה. אבל-ברם-אולם, הנה התוצאות:
גירסא א' | Version A
וגירסא ב' | and Version B
If you don't think this worthy, no problem. Ignore it and I won't mind. But if you do, I would like to know: which version do you like better – A or B? And there is no need to explain (!), unless you want to.
Also, if you have an idea for a title, I'd like to know that too.
אם לא נראה לך ראוי, אין בעיה. היעדר כל תגובה לא יעליב אותי. אבל אם כן, אשמח לדעת: איזו גירסא נראית לך יותר, א' או ב'? ואין שום צורך לפרט (!), אלא אם זה רצונך.
במקביל, אם יש לך רעיון לכותרת – גם לזו אשמח.

PS, If you don't need an explanation, feel free to skip the following. If you do, this is it:
I have a coffee-table that is made of black painted metal (the stripe in the photo), its' (upper, in this case) surface – gray glass (in A – under the stripe; B – to its' left). On the surface I stood an Old ring on its' side. I found out it reflected in the surface. A is the version I actually photographed. B is the version I flipped the photo on its' side.
נ.ב. מי שלא זקוק להסבר, מוזמן לדלג על חלק זה. מי ש-כן – בבקשה:
יש לי שולחן סלון נמוך שנוצר ממתכת צבועה בשחור (הפס בתמונה), משטחו (העליון במקרה הזה) – זכוכית אפורה (ב-א' – מתחת לפס; ב-ב' – לשמאלו). על המשטח העמדתי טבעת ישנה על צידה. גיליתי כי הטבעת משתקפת במשטח השולחן. א' זו הגירסא שממש צילמתי. ב' זו הגירסא בה הפכתי את התמונה על צידה.

A later addition – it seems we all agree that version A is better. That was also my gut instinct, but only reading @tastymountaingoodness's comment I understood why.
Still considering title options.
תוספת מאוחרת – נדמה שהגענו להסכמה שגירסא א' עדיפה. זו גם הייתה תחושת הבטן שלי, אך רק לקריאת התגובה של tastymountaingoodness הבנתי למה.
עדיין שוקלת אפשרויות לכותרת.
הפעם הראשונה | The First Time
Versus the thought of 'New', many first times come to mind (like the first time I met a Spur Winged Lapwing). But also the idea of first experiments lurks in the background.
Like the first times I used (relatively) successfully the macro option of the camera:
למול המחשבה על 'חדש', עולות בדעתי פעמים ראשונות רבות (כמו הפעם הראשונה שפגשתי סיקסק). אבל גם הרעיון של ניסיון חדש מדשדש ברקע.
כמו הפעמים הראשונות שהשתמשתי בהצלחה (יחסית) באפשרות ה-מאקרו של המצלמה:
What I like most is the glow of the raindrops, that remain after the rain has stopped. So is the little blue patch (up and to the right), that symbolizes the hope for clearance.
מה שמוצא חן בעיניי במיוחד זה הזוהר של טיפות הגשם, הנותרות לאחר שהגשם הפסיק לרדת. כמו גם כתם התכלת הקטן (מימין למעלה), המסמל תקווה להתבהרות.

A Splash of Color – Thank You WPC Participants
מתז של צבע – תודה למשתתפי האתגרים

It was a cold morning (at 9:08) on the 2nd of January this year, when I managed to snap this shot. White-Throated Kingfishers are usually so quick to take flight, that I was thrilled to find this one resting for a moment right next to a statue that I could hide behind and take the photo. It was cloudy, so everything around seemed dull, muted and sort of grayish. Which at that moment seemed to be there just to enhance this sudden splash of color.
The Weekly Photo Challenge of that week was Growth, and (in hind sight – rather naively) I posted this shot along with the hope that my photo collection (especially of the Winged creatures I like so much) will grow and improve with time.
Without the Photo Challenge it would not have grown to this day. And by the Photo Challenge I don't mean just the Daily Post posting the actual challenge, but mainly all bloggers participating, allowing everyone else to view their talent, eye, surroundings and so much more.
The last All-Time Favorites WPC (which I never thought would be posted) made me go over all my collection, and this stood out, making me think that Life can sometimes be dull, muted and sort of grayish, and all of a sudden a WPC would come up and a participant would splash a color and make me smile.
Thank you Photo Challenge participants. You have all been my teachers at one time or another, and I fully appreciate it.

בבוקר קר (ב-9:08), בשני לינואר השנה, הצלחתי לצלם את התמונה הזו. שלדגים כל כך מהירים להתעופף עד כי התרגשתי למצוא את השלדג הזה נח לרגע ממש ליד פסל, מאחוריו יכולתי להתחבא כדי לצלם. היה מעונן, כך שהכל נדמה חדגוני, מעומעם וכמעט אפרפר. אך באותו רגע חשבתי שזה כך כדי להדגיש את מתז הצבע.
אתגר הצילום לאותו שבוע היה 'צמיחה'. והעליתי את הצילום הזה (במבט לאחור – די בנאיביות) יחד עם התקווה כי אוסף הצילומים שלי (בעיקר של המכונפים האהובים עלי) יצמח וישתפר עם הזמן.
ללא האתגר השבועי, האוסף לא היה מגיע לגודלו היום. ובהתייחסי אל האתגר, אני לא מתכוונת רק אל העלאתו אל בלוג הבית, אלא בעיקר אל המשתתפים בו, אשר הרשו לכל אחד אחר הצצה אל כשרונם, העין שלהם, סביבתם וכל כך הרבה יותר.
אתגר הצילום האחרון (אשר לתומי, לא חשבתי כי אי פעם יעלה) – הצילום החביב ביותר – הביא אותי לעבור על כל האוסף וצילום זה בלט. גרם לי לחשוב כי החיים עצמם יכולים להיות חדגוניים, עמומים ואפרוריים. ולפתע אתגר חדש היה מפציע ומשתתף כזה או אחר היה מתיז צבע ומעלה חיוך.
לכן העליתי את הפוסט הזה, כדי להודות למשתתפי האתגרים, היות ומכל מלמדיי השכלתי ורציתי להביע את הערכתי להם.

Street Art
I'd have thought it unlikely to come across a tree stump turned into a work of art (where I live now)… that is, until I came across it
אומנות רחוב – הייתי אומרת שלא סביר שאתקל בגדם עץ שהפך ליצירת אומנות (בעיר מגוריי)… כלומר – עד שנתקלתי בזה
I'd have thought it unlikely to come across Street Art in an enclosed shopping mall (at my home town)… that is, until I came across it

With street Street Art one doesn't usually get a reflection like this…

Reflection
השתקפות
I saw somewhere (I'm sorry I don't remember where) a photo of a bird and its' reflection and I liked the idea. To my (double!) happiness, I encountered such last Sunday. I am just not sure which I prefer, the above or the next one… And 'double' because of the other happiness – this (in my humble opinion) is a Black-Headed Gull and it is my very first sight of it.
ראיתי באיזשהו מקום (לצערי אני לא זוכרת איפה) תמונה של ציפור והשתקפותה והרעיון מצא חן בעיני. לשמחתי (הכפולה!) נתקלתי בזה ביום א' האחרון. אני רק מתלבטת בין התמונה לעיל לבין זו דלהלן… ו'כפולה' בגלל השמחה השנייה – זה (לעניות דעתי) שחף אגמים וזו הפעם הראשונה בה נתקלתי בו/ה.
I would prefer the second, if not for the duck in the back busy with his morning wash, causing all the ripples… What do you think?
הייתי מעדיפה את השנייה, אלמלא הברווז ברקע, עסוק בשכשוך הבוקר שלו וגורם לכל האדוות… ודעתך?

P.S. I was puzzled by the 'Black-Headed' name, until I read the explanation in my leaflet – that the head turns black come spring. I wish these guys will still be around for me to see the change (and I wish to remember to look for it, which is why I wrote it down. Maybe this will help me to remember…).
נ.ב. הפליא אותי השם באנגלית – שחור-ראש, עד שקראתי בעלון שלי כי הראש משנה צבע לשחור באביב. אני מקווה שהללו יישארו מעט בסביבה ויאפשרו לי לראות את השינוי (ואני מקווה לזכור לחפש, לכן ה-נ.ב. הזה. אולי זה יעזור לי לזכור…).
P.S. II: When I just saw the last Weekly Photo Challenge of this year, I took a look at my own photos and decided the last ones I took are my favorite of all. That's because what I truly love about these challenges is how much I learn from you all just by looking at the way you look at things. In this instance I learned how to look at reflections, which I hadn't noticed so much in the past. So thank you all for sharing your photos and letting everyone learn.
