Even if lately this blog has quieted down a bit, both blog and I are still here, healthy and whole but certainly not complete.
And as long as we're here, as every year so now – I went over this year's photographic products.
And suddenly I remembered – last month I already picked my photo of the year. However, maybe because of the quality of this year, in which I went through positive moments as well as negative, hard and easy, problems and solutions, and more… the title of Dualism seems appropriate. And this title fits two photos, one from the beginning of this year, and the other that I already picked. Similar yet different photos.

Which do you like better?

גם אם נכון שבזמן האחרון הבלוג הזה השתתק מעט, גם הבלוג וגם אני עדיין כאן, בריאים ושלמים וממש לא מושלמים.
ואם כבר שנינו עדיין כאן, כבכל שנה כך גם השנה – עברתי על תוצריה המצולמים.
לפתע נזכרתי – כבר בחרתי בחודש שעבר את תמונת השנה שלי. אבל, אולי בגלל איכותה של השנה הזו, בה חוויתי רגעים חיוביים בצד אלו השליליים, קשים וקלים, בעיות ופתרונים, ועוד… הכותרת דואליזם נראית לי מתאימה. ולכותרת הזו מתאימות שתי תמונות, האחת מתחילת השנה והשנייה בה כבר בחרתי. תמונות דומות ושונות.

לפגוש קאקים | to meet Jackdaws

עם אחד מהם שיחקתי מחבואים | with one of them I played hide and seek

אבל פתאום נתקלתי בזה | but suddenly I met this

בצורתו – מַגְלָן | in shape – an Ibis

בצבעיו – לא כל כך | in color – not so much

כך שאני פשוט לא יודעת מה זה | so I just don't know what this is

ומי שיודע מוזמן לגלות גם לי | if you know, let me know too

Truthfully, I didn't mean to post another Gray Heron, seeing as I already posted enough photos of this bird this year. But these (as the birds of the last blog posting) I don't get to meet often enough. So when I saw this one, I started snapping shots, especially for my own private collection. However when I got back from the park, and went through all the photos, I found this one:

למען האמת, לא התכוונתי להעלות לכאן אנפה אפורה, היות וכבר העליתי מספיק תמונות של העוף הזה השנה. אבל גם את אלו (כמו את האגמיות מהפוסט האחרון) אני לא פוגשת לעיתים קרובות. כך שכאשר ראיתי את האנפה הזו, התחלתי לצלם, בעיקר לטובת האוסף הפרטי שלי. אם כי בחזרתי מהפארק עברתי על הצילומים ומצאתי את התמונה הזו:

And it seems to me it has everything – light and shadow, delicate gray and bold white, different directions, and more…
Meaning – a photo of the living, representing Life.

ונדמה לי שיש בה הכל – אור וצל, אפור מעודן ולבן בולט, כיוונים שונים, ועוד…
כלומר – תמונה של חיים, המסמלת את החיים.

P.S. As I do every year, since I got back to snapping shots, this year too I meant to choose my photo of the year. And to my thinking, this is the one for this year.

נ.ב., כמנהגי מדי שנה, מאז שחזרתי לצלם דברים, גם השנה התכוונתי לבחור את תמונת השנה שלי. ולדעתי, השנה, זו התמונה הזו.

ובחזרה אל העבר | and back to the past

Well, I had time. The heat-humidity wasn't so bad that early in the morning. So I thought to visit again a creature I found once, in the past. Especially now – that I know what it was (a Megatherium. For more, click here). On my way, I saw another creature.

היה לי זמן. מצב החום-לחות לא היה כל כך נורא, מוקדם בבוקר. לכן חשבתי לבקר שוב את היצור שמצאתי פעם, במיוחד עכשיו – משגיליתי מה זה היה (פרטים בהמשך). ובדרכי, קלטתי עוד יצור.

ובכן, גם אותו (בסופו של דבר) הצלחתי לזהות. ובעברית, אפילו מצאתי מצגת חביבה למדי, הכוללת את שניהם (מומלץ להקליק. וכמה חבל שלא השלימו את התרגום לאנגלית! יכולתי לשתף עכשיו).
