אני אוהבת עצים
Whether fruit bearing, or blessedly shading when the sun is scorching – I simply love trees, even if I don't exactly go around hugging them (mainly because of other tree lovers, like ants, which I don't particularly like).
Though almost majestic in their way, one of the things I love most about trees is something totally different. And that is the fact that they will grow into the shape they will (as long as Man doesn't cut them down completely, which I don't like to think about).
But I must confess my heart-strings got tauten when I first saw the following one. It is obvious it has been through a lot. And yet – grow he did, does and will. And maybe there is a lesson in that…
But it is a bit more than just growing despite it all. Close to its' roots area I found this:
I might have an overactive imagination, but this sometimes looks to me like a goat's head, and at others like a monkey's. Do you see it too?

בין אם עצי פרי, ובין אם מצלים ביום חמסין – אני פשוט אוהבת עצים, גם אם אני לא ממש מחבקת אותם עם זרועות וצווארים (וזאת בעיקר בגלל אוהבי עצים אחרים, אליהם אין לי חיבה מיוחדת, כמו נמלים).
על אף מלכותם, מה שאני אוהבת בעצים הוא משהו לגמרי אחר. העובדה שהם יצמחו כפי שהם רוצים (כל עוד האדם אינו גודע אותם, רעיון עליו אני ממש לא אוהבת לחשוב).
אם כי עליי להודות שרחמיי נכמרו כאשר רק פגשתי את העץ הזה. נראה ברור שעבר עליו הרבה. ובכל-זאת – צמוח צמח, צומח ויצמח.
ואולי יש כאן גם איזשהו לקח…
אך יש כאן קצת יותר מצמיחה למרות ועל אף. סמוך לשורשיו מצאתי:
אולי הדמיון שלי פעיל מדי, אך לפעמים הבליטות נדמות לי כראש עז, ולעיתים כראש קוף. הנראה גם לעינייך?
