Set the cat among the… well, they're winged anyway

I'm not at all sure what kind of winged creatures these are, but they certainly made quite a racket (though maybe that was for me, not the cat).

את הביטוי המקורי באנגלית הייתי מתרגמת (מילולית) ל: שלח את החתול אל בין היונים. ובכן, הללו לא יונים, אך מכונפים בכל מקרה. איזה מן יצור הם – אין לי מושג. אבל ספר הביטויים שלי גורס כי המקבילות העבריות לביטוי הנ"ל יכולות להיות: התחיל/פתח מחול שדים; או עורר מהומה רבתי. והיצורים הללו אכן חוללו מהומה קולנית (אם כי יתכן שזה קרה בגללי ולא בגלל החתול).

הנ"ל היו עוד מצילומי האתמול, מהיקף האגם | These were more of my shots around the lake yesterday

      1. Some years ago I happened to be in the woods in Wyoming practicing Kung Fu when I heard a thrumb, thrumb sound approaching from a distance. In the peaceful shadow of the pine trees where I held my meditative poses. The sound seemed to surround me and I couldn't discern the direction it originated from.

        I was a city boy, and concerned that it could be a bear or some other native creature approaching. Thrumb, thrumb it grew ever closer. Imagine my surprise when a tom turkey drumming and six hens following him like the Pied Piper walked within a few feet of me. I stood motionless, deep in my stance, arms extended, focused on each breath as they passed me by.

Oh, I can very well imagine it all – the concern, the relief and the surprise, being a city-gal my entire life… I only started meeting these kind of creatures, that really belong in the wild, just a bit over a year ago. Though my first encounter didn't involve the concern. It was in broad daylight, in a city square. Surprising nevertheless

  2. הסיפור הזכיר לי מקרה שהייתי עד לו שחתול צעד בתוך קבוצה גדולה של יונים והתנפל על אחת.. היא הצליחה לברוח ופרצה שם מהומה גדולה
